Asan, reborn after the merger of both Asan and Onyang in 1995, is the home of unique cultures and arts with abundant natural beauties and historic things.
Asan is the birthplace of Chungmu spirit, and has many famous places to visit like Hyeonchung Temple, a shrine dedicated to General Yi in commemoration of his great patriotism symbolized as chungmu spirit, Onyang hot springs, frequented by the kings since over 1300 years ago, Dogo hot spring the only sulfur hot spring in Korea and Asan outdoor hot spring recently developed as a theme tourism. |

Asan boasts of Seohaean Expressway, Gyeongbu Expressway and Janghang Highway combining to provide Asan with the high increase of inland transportation capability and high potentiality for development. Moreover, Asan becomes the more favorable destination after the opening of Gyeoungbu Express Railroad in April, 2004, which is accessible to Seoul under a half hour from the Cheonan-Asan Station. Asan makes its best efforts to enable firms moving in its area to be comparative by providing the more rapid, safer and more economic logistics system.
Meanwhile, Asan, only filled with grape farms a few years ago, is dynamically changed into the LCD and motor industrial complex. Presently, the world-renowned companies like Samsung Electronics and Hyundai Motors are operating vigorously in Asan. In 2006 alone, Asan¡¯s trade volume amounted to US$27, 037 Million with US$23,045 Million in export, which consists of 7.08% of Korea¡¯s total export.
In addition, the completion of Asan New City Development in Tangjong in 2009 will make itself the most dynamic city in the Korea. |
